POKOTABI / Rosetta
神楽坂 ロゼッタ
A basement bar in Kagurazaka offering a wide whiskey selection, from vintage bottlings and cask finishes to wine and beer, suited for a quiet solo nightcap.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Stepping down into the basement of a building in Kagurazaka 3-chome brings you to Rosetta, where shelves lined with bottles greet visitors behind the bar. The main draw here is a lineup of whiskies that showcases mature vintages and distinct distillery character. The Whimsical Old Whisky list features releases that still convey classic historical blends, such as Inverness Cream 8-year-old and John Begg carrying tax-bracket grade ratings from their 1980s distribution, along with Ballantine's 12 Year Old Gold Seal distributed between the 80s and 90s.
Tasting across single malts is just as rewarding, with particularly deep coverage of the Edradour distillery. Alongside the standard 10-year-old, the menu offers Edradour 13 Year Old (2002) matured in Burgundy casks, the peated Ballechin 13 Year Old (2004), and a Sauternes cask-matured Ballechin. Many of these can be ordered as half-shots of 15 ml each, making it easy to compare nuances across different cask types as you sip.
Beyond whisky, you can match your mood with options like Gargery Wheat beer with its fruity profile, Prosecco by the glass, or a variety of cocktails. Seating includes both counter and table spaces, offering a calm environment whether you are looking for a solitary pour or quiet conversation in a small group. Open from 18:00 until late into the night every day except Monday, it is a comfortable place to settle in after dinner in Kagurazaka for another drink.
